What is it and what does it do?
Restylane, Restylane Lyft, and Radiesse are products that fill depressions and wrinkles on the face and hands caused by aging, sun damage, and gravity.
What areas can be treated?
These are very useful products for smoothing wrinkles around the mouth (nasolabial folds), marionette lines (the "sad look"), deep forehead lines, and sun-damaged tops of hands.
How long does it last?
These products last 12-15 months with very slow, gradual loss of product, however, your body's production of collagen continues to provide benefit beyond the 15 months.
Is there discomfort involved?
Products now contain lidocaine for minimizing pain with the first injection. Minimal discomfort!
Is there any "downtime" involved?
There may be slight bruising or redness lasting for a few days. This is easily covered with light makeup.
Be wary of counterfeit fillers that are being imported from outside the United States and sold cheaply to individuals with minimal training and used on unsuspecting patients.
